The 2020-2022 Executive Committee is Announced

Eight new members have been selected to serve on the BAPT Executive Committee for the 2020 - 2022 term. The new committee members come from a variety of Physiotherapy backgrounds and their experience working with patients spans from 2 to 22 years. They hope to bring fresh perspectives and ideas to the BAPT and have agreed upon the following term goals:

  1. Achieve professional visibility and regulation through government legislation

  2. Support our international partnerships; BAPT website, WCPT, and local PT heroes

  3. Improve the membership experience with members only monthly programs.

 

President: Dr. DeVonnia Bonimy-Lee, PT, DPT, WCS, CLT-LANA

DeVonnia is a Physiotherapist and owner / director of Viva Physio & Wellness. She has been practiving Physiotherapy for 13 years with clinical experience in Oncology, Women's and Men's Health, and was the Rehabilitation Coordinator at Doctor's Hospital. DeVonnia is a U.S. Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Pelvic Health, a certified Lymphedema Therapist, and registered Hatha Yoga Instructor.

 

Vice President: Dr. Virginia Chan, PT, DPT, COMT, CKTP


Virginia is a Physiotherapist and owner/director of Advanced Rehabilitation Center in Sandyport. She has 10 years of experience and is a U.S. Board Certified Physical Therapist and a certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist. She specializes in Sports, Aquatic, and Orthopedic Physiotherapy.


 


Treasurer: Heather P. Hanlan, BSc, Dip PT, MPhysio


Heather is a Physiotherapist at the Princess Margaret Hospital and Director Rehabilitation Services for the Public Authority. She has over 22 years of experience.




 


Secretary: Dr. Kereen Sherwood-Wallace, Bsc. PT, MSPT, DPT, CEAS, CKTP, Dip FIDN.


Kereen is a Physiotherapist at KTH Physiotherapy. She has over 15 years of clinical experience and specializes in Sports Medicine, Orthopedics, and Pediatric Physiotherapy.


 


Public Relations: Dr. Karen Wert, PT, DPT


Karen is a Physiotherapist at Bahamas Physio. She is U.S. Board Certified and has 2 years of clinical experience. She specializes in Sports and Orthopedic Physiotherapy.



 

Assistant Treasurer: Bernique R. Hanna, MSc Physiotherapy


Bernique is a Physiotherapist at Doctor's Hospital. She has 2 years of clinical experience and has been a part of the medical staff of multiple National Track and Field Teams.



 

Assistant Secretary: Kathryn Taylor-Hennis, BSc, Grad Dip PT, MCSP


Kathryn is a Physiotherapist and owner / director at KTH Physiotherapy Services Ltd. She has been practicing for 28 years and has studied several Physiotherapy masters including Maitland, Cyriax, and McKenzie. She has been an active member of the BAPT since its inception often serving in other executive positions. She specializes in Orthopedic Rehabilitation


 

Public Relations Assistant: Dr. Alaina Mortimer, DPT



Alaina is a Physiotherapist and owner / director of Bahamas Physio on Western Rd. She has been practicing for 7 years and specializes in Orthopedic and Geriatric Physiotherapy.
